I am a therapist and certified health coach for the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I have been working professionally in the field of social work for over 25 years and am committed to helping clients achieve their best emotional and physical health. I assist individuals in developing healthy coping skills, support systems and lifestyles by identifying and working through issues that are negatively impacting their lives and making lasting, positive changes.
My practice focuses on using a client centered therapy approach to assist individuals through struggles with life transitions. I also work with those who are experiencing anxiety, grief and depression as well as those wanting to make changes to their food and lifestyle so they can permanently reach their goals.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience complex emotions and challenges associated with loss. Whether it's the death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, or another form of loss, grief counseling offers a safe space for individuals to explore and process their feelings.
My aim is to support individuals in making sustainable changes to their food and lifestyle habits, enabling them to achieve their goals and maintain a healthy weight in the long term. I believe in taking a holistic approach to weight loss and my counseling services are tailored to each individual's unique needs and circumstances.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments. CBT has been clinically proven to help clients in a relatively short amount of time with a wide range of disorders, including depression and anxiety.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a method of therapy that works to engage the motivation of clients to change their behavior. Clients are encouraged to explore and confront their ambivalence. Therapists attempt to influence their clients to consider making changes, rather than non-directively explore themselves. Motivational Interviewing is frequently used in cases of problem drinking or mild addictions.
